Essential oil must haves for
pre/post natal and pregnancy care ❤️
So some oils are great during and not great after. Just ask if your unsure. Also if you use something its not horrible it’s all natural they are just cautious because your body is so sensitive at this time.
Ylang Ylang- It has antiseptic, anti-depressant, and anti-spasmodic properties. It also improves blood flow and boosts the immune health.
Roman Chamomile - Some of its benefits include fighting anxiety and depression, relieving allergy, improving sleep, boosting skin health, supporting digestive health, and promoting heart health.
Ginger- The spicy and earthy root of ginger does not only add robust flavor to your food, but it also makes an excellent choice for an essential oil to be used during pregnancy. It is an energizing oil that will work best in terms of fighting nausea and vomiting, two of the worst problems amongst pregnant women. With its natural anti-inflammatory properties, it will also be effective for natural headache relief.
Peace and calming—Dilute in carrier oil (like olive oil, coconut oil or whatever you have on hand) and blend-in 2 drops. Rub on bottom of feet before bedtime. I love the smell of this, so I also put it on my wrists.
Cedarwood—Super high in sesquiterpenes – 98%, Vetiver is 97% and another one you may want to try. This means it will cross the blood-brain barrier. This oil has the incredible ability to support your body’s sleep hormones. Dilute in carrier oil and apply on soles of feet, back of neck or wrists before sleep. Very woodsy smell.
We want to avoid the following essential oils when pregnant:
Blue Cypress, Carrot Seed, Cinnamon Bark, Clary Sage, Dill, Fennel, Hyssop, Idaho Tansy, Jasmine, Lemongrass, Lemon Myrtle, Marjoram,Myrrh, Nutmeg, Ravintsara, Rosemary, Sage, and Wintergreen
Safe Oil Blends:
Citrus Fresh, Motivation, Peace & Calming, Present Time, Sacred Mountain, Valor
Peppermint is great to use for nausea, but about 30 weeks stop using. It can lower your milk supply.( I used to stop producing)
Fennel is good to increase your milk supply so after baby is born use it ;)
Pregnancy brain recipes
Clarity– Diffuse; Combine 3-4 drops with ½ cup Epsom salts and put in bath water. Dilute with carrier oil and apply on temples, wrists, and back of neck.
Believe—Dilute 1-2 drops in carrier oil and apply to wrists and back of neck. May also diffuse.
Diffusing was one of my favorite things to do morning, noon, and night while pregnant. Having calming or anti nausea blends going I swear was my savior. I even brought my diffuser to the hospital for my c section. Staying positive and having a calm mindset really made me so comfortable and chill out enjoying every moment.
